Quinte West Operations Centre and Works Yard

Responding to a programmatic typology that typically bifurcates front-of-house administrative offices from rear industrial workshops and storage, this municipal operations centre derives its identity from its sloping topography. The design utilizes a major retaining structure to establish a split-level site condition, naturally securing the upper-level works yard. Public approach and entry are directed through a recessed, two-story lobby, situated beneath the dramatic cantilever of the upper building volume.

Delivered at a highly efficient cost of approximately $200 per square foot, the 100,000-square-foot facility accommodates administrative offices, staff amenities, a fleet maintenance garage, specialized workshops, indoor vehicle storage, and dedicated fleet wash facilities.
