Guelph Market Square Pavilion

Guelph, Ontario

Conceived within the context of a larger civic square redevelopment, this pavilion consolidates a diverse functional program. The structure houses a Zamboni bay and mechanical support for the adjacent outdoor ice rink and splash pad, alongside accessible washrooms, change rooms, public lockers, and a general seating area. The project aims to provide a place of climatic refuge while serving as a distinct urban marker for the public square. Ultimately, the design focuses on formal experimentation and technical innovation realized within a small-scale architectural object.
