Wilson Station Bus Terminal Rounthwaite, Dick & Hadley was the Prime Consultant for the conversion of the Toronto Transit Commission's abandoned bus station and subway link at Wilson Avenue into a GO Transit hub bus terminal. Major renovations included the reconfiguration of the Concourse and ticketing layouts, bus bays, pedestrian access, washrooms, and ancillary facilities. Renovations to the existing building included major reworking of the canopy, ceiling and floor finishes, new double glazing to replace single glazing, new elevators and stairs, and new HVAC Communications and electrical systems. Sitework included new Kiss & Ride taxi zone and landscaping. Greenlane Station RDH in association with Cansult Limited (Prime Consultants) are currently providing design and construction field review services for the new GO Transit Centre in East Gwillimbury. The new transportation hub includes a new commuter rail station and regional bus terminus that services both the Town of East Gwillimbury and the Town of Newmarket. The main Station building incorporates a large public waiting room with a cathedral ceiling, space for a retail outlet, public and staff washrooms, service rooms, a three workstation ticket booth, and a Bus Dispatch centre. In addition to the main station building, RDH were responsible for the design of the new bus shelters servicing both GO Transit and York Region Transit. Port Credit Station RDH are the Designers and Prime Consultant for the rehabilitation of an existing GO Transit commuter rail station in Mississauga. The Station Building renovation and addition includes an expanded public waiting area, three new ticket booths, expanded staff areas, mechanical, electrical and communications services spaces, and staff and public washrooms. The Platform renovation includes the complete demolition and redesign of the platform shelters and stair, escalator and elevator enclosures, and the recladding of the existing canopy. Reconstruction of the Station Building is underway while the platform work is to commence in early May. The Station will continue to operate fully throughout the construction period. Scarborough Station RDH were responsible for the design and construction and field review for the rehabilitation of an existing GO Transit commuter rail station in Scarborough. Work included a 500 SF addition in which the new communications room, ticket booths, and staff work areas were relocated. The retrofit of the existing building included new male and female barrier-free washrooms and a full upgrade of the finishes in the public waiting area.
